As a Child Representative, Bender is an attorney working for the parties’ child’s best interests. A Child Representative must handle a number of court-related duties. Besides reviewing the facts and circumstances of the case, a Child Representative meets with the child and the involved parties, investigates the facts of the case, and encourages settlement as well as the use of alternative forms of dispute resolution. A Child Representative cannot be called to testify as a witness.
